Summary:
The role is to monitor the Monkey House premises (inside and outside).
Being able to determine and foresee any disturbances to individuals in the business.
Recognizing valid personal identification and being able to determine if someone looks intoxicated before entering.
You must be friendly, outgoing, and possess good communication skills.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities (but are not limited to):
? Retrieve door bag.
Count bag (If there is a show) Door bag should always be at $200.
If you need smaller bills, ask the bartender, do not exchange smaller bills yourself ? Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol or entry into the show If 18-20 years old mark a LARGE X on BOTH hands with black sharpie and keep track of how many under 21 year olds are in the bar and make sure they don't run to the bathroom to wash their hands and alert the bartender about underage kids.
? Collect cash from guests for entry into the show and provide proper change.
? Provide excellent customer service to guests.
? Bus dirty glasses and wipe down tables ? Keep an eye on guests as they are in the bar to notice any signs of intoxication and keep the bartender updated ? The bartender on duty is your Manager on Duty, any issues, problems, questions, ask them or feel free to text Ali ? Communicate regularly with bartender throughout the shift ? You may sit, but keep moving outside and inside to ensure safety and rules are being followed inside and outside the bar (during patio season) ? You should always station yourself to view the bar and the door at all times ? Never leave door bag unattended or walk away from the bank box while it's out of the cabinet End of Shift ? Wait until the bartender says you can count the door bag settle up If it's a busy show, STAY AT THE DOOR until it settles down.
We need to ensure people are still being ID'd as they come in and folks are leaving safely ? Once the bartender says it's OK, you can start counting the door bag You count the bag to $200 and the remaining money is removed.
Check what the deal is via the bartender, schedule, or ali to know how to distribute funds BEFORE you give $ to the bands, the bartender MUST count the door bag in addition to you counting it.
Record the $ going to the band on the sheet provided in the bank box If the next person working the door recounts the door bag and it's not at $200, the bartender who was on last as well as door person will have to share the difference to get to $200.

Once the bartender decides to cut you this could be end of band or closing - do not ask to leave, the bartender will tell you when it's OK to be cut (Friday & Saturday your end is when the bar closes) then you can do the recycling from behind the bar in the basement Sweep vestibule at the end of your shift Sweep cigarette butts outside Assist bartender in collecting empty glasses?
